Billy
Hi All, I am new on this forum. Just got a brand new R/T last week. It has a 8.4 Uconnect with a single disk DVD player and rear entertainment. The very first DVD I played worked fine (except for the frustrating fact that the player doesn't seem to support any video formats other than native DVD). But it only worked for one day. I left the disk in the drive. Next day the player gave me a Disk error. I tried ejecting the disk but it won't eject. At times, when I press the eject button, it makes some mechanical sounds trying to move the disk but it always fails. The disk is stuck in there. Is there any way to force it eject (either mechanically or electronically)? Has it happened to anyone else's DVD? Also, just out my curiosity, is that true that it can only play videos in DVD format, not .avi files encoded with any video codecs? Thanks. larryl
Head to the Dealer if it's a brand new vehicle
Billy
larryl, That's for sure. But it requires my spare time wich I don't have right now. I just thought there was a common easy fix.

aussiedodgejourney
Billy, did you end up getting this fixed? We just took delivery of our car and found that the CD/DVD drive won't take any disc at all and keeps displaying "Disk Error". Lucky I tested it while I was doing pre-delivery checks and got dealer to write it down on to delivery check list as an pending issue. What I don't understand is that how come brand new car has such issues?
Kirsten Roga-Livingstone
We have been dealing with a cd player that has had a disk error reading since October 2013, all the dealership tells us is replace it at the cost of 1250.00 plus Labour! We have searched different options but they have tied our hands as it is an integrated system w/ navigation and did. Put complaint in with BBC AND Chrysler corporate but still screwed. Now we are having other issues with vibration at higher speeds! 2009 Dodge Journey R/T. We will continue to fight with them.

dhh3
Go over to the Sales side of your Dealership. If you have bought a lot of cars from them, I'm sure they will not want to lose a good customer.
