MiK3Y
Hello all...i have an 09' Journey with only 900miles. after sitting parked for about 5mins, i started to take off and the transmission clunked fairly hard into 2nd gear and wouldn't upshift or downshift after that. i came to stop at a red light and when it turned green and i accellerated, i could tell it wasnt in 1st gear...it was still in 2nd. i pulled into a parking lot, turned off the car and restarted it again and everything was fine. taking it in to the dealer. anybody else experienced this? Canada_Jay
I get hard shifting and clunking but not the same issue as you. I really wish mine would get a hard fault. Then the knuckleheads at the dealer would finally "feel" the issue.
JourneyMan71
I have a Journey SXT with the 6-speed and I have notice a drop off like when shifting from 1-2-3 gears. It feels like it stops engageing for a moment then kicks in.

I bought my Dodge Journey in September of 08. I have had it into the dealer numerous times regarding the transmission. It shift gears hard with a clunking noise. The dealrship told me it was all in my head the first few times. Then I had the General manager go for a ride with me and he felt how it drove and said that is the way Dodge made it. I have also had other issues with my Journey that the Dealership doesn't seem to find when I take it in. As far as I am concerned my Dodge Jounrey is a POS!!! My transmission would not come out of second, and has been at the dealer for 9 days. No word on when, just that its the torque converter, and it takes a while. I have 14K on the odometer, and the dealership, BOB BOAST DODGE basically sucks. I have had to call them for 3 days to find out the status. Rental car has me for over $300.00 as well. Not a good product at all, BEWARE!
crh47
You're not paying for the rental, are you? If you are, then you should be reimbursed by Chysler.

JourneyMan71
I get so mad when people just get on a forum to B&C. People,it is a new car from inside out. First year autos have their issues. Most of the issues people complain about are really dealer issues and not about Chrysler as a whole.
W_A_Watson_II
journey doesnt have torque converter it uses dual clutch style tranny does why you feel lug/slipping and it will donshifts alot . Are you sure that's true for all Journeys? The US units have TC's.
