Ryan Mink
I have a 2010 Journey 4cyl. The alternator is making tons of noise after only 40,000 miles. Can I change out just the pulley on this? Or do I have to buy a new alternator? Not having any problems with charging just the horrible racket coming from the pulley.
larryl
The pulley bearings are most likely making the noise and they are in the alternator
2late4u
alot of new vec. have a decoupler(spelling is wrong) that that is bloted onto the alt that the belt rides on. my daughter just had one go bad on her 2007 van. the decoupler cost about $45. most mech. usually just changes out the alt as they make more money on that then just fixing the decoupler check it out on u tube. could just be that good luck
