travis9935
I see everyone is getting a tune but the dj! What are the odds of us getting one? :-(

Darkpaw
0% chance. I asked DS about this and told flat-out that it won't be done. Seems stupid, because the DJ and DGC use the exact same PCM as the Avengers.
jkeaton
Unfortunately the DJ is not marketed to the "tuner" crowd, even though many of us would like to mod our DJ's. There is not enough market to support the development.
Darkpaw
But it should be the exact programming as the Avenger. All they would need is a list of the CAL IDs, which Chrysler will usually provide to them (so they have claimed in the past).
jkeaton
I doubt the tuning is the "exact same" as the Avenger. Maybe the same engine, but completely different vehicle and tuned differently. Edited March 27, 2014 by jkeaton

Agreed. The fact that the hp and tq numbers are different in every 3.6L application alone means that they are tuned differently from the factory. They would need a donor vehicle to try tunes on and it would be a significant R&D expenditure. They likely have looked at the return on investment and decided it wasn't worth their time. Not a surprise considering the vehicle. The 3.6 is plenty fun just how it is (rare to be able to say that about an OEM application). jkeaton
ChopRod
Anyone game in trying the Avenger tune regardless???? Same engine in the Ram 1500 is a little over 300hp. All i'd want to do is reprogram shift points- up and down. Or are ther newere TCM's that would work to sort out shift issues as discussed in other topics on this site????? Love this engine and the vehicle overall. Hate the shift points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
redtomatoman
Why not just run it in manual mode? If I need to get off the line quick, I just drop it into manual mode and it will still automatically shift at 6000+ rpms. Also the manual mode is great for those 60-100mph efforts. Peace. Darkpaw
Anyone game in trying the Avenger tune regardless???? You can't do that. It won't program.
Darkpaw
Same engine in the Ram 1500 is a little over 300hp. Different intake manifold. hp is different on the Challenger because of true dual exhaust.

You're stuck with a dead vehicle.
