JARogers24
Does anyone know anyone who has done an engine swap of any kind on a journey? And what upgrades has anyone made to get more power output?
jkeaton
Not that I am aware of, imo, to cost prohibitive. What engine do you have? I'm quite pleased with the power of the 3.6. Maybe you should have got a different vehicle if the power is so low you are considering an engine swap.
JARogers24
I have 3.5 2009. I don't have any complaints with it. It was more curiosity on what people have done.
Lobitz68
The 3.5 was offered in several vehicles. I'm sure there are the typical upgrades available... I would look for parts for other vehicles with the 3.5, assuming some of it should fit just fine... Not a lot of aftermarket for these vehicles as they aren't really marketed toward your typical enthusiast.
jkeaton
Drop a hemi in it.....
rolly
Drop a hemi in it..... That would change it from the Dodge Journey to the Star Trek Voyager LOL! jkeaton and Lawdog1911

bigtsr
Anything is possible if you have enough money to throw at it!
Windancer
It is interesting, but Hemi Vehicles all seem to be rear wheel drive and would need a huge adaption to make it a front wheel drive vehicle, and as Bigstr said anything is possible if you throw enough money at it. I would think the Journey would suffer from severe torque steer with a hemi. Terry jkeaton

redtomatoman
I get it. Its just a suggestion, but really?!? A Hemi? Torque steer would be horrendous. And, why not save some money, buy a Hemi Durango, and go on a 2 week cruise with the money you saved? I like the DJ more than the Durango, but a Hemi Durango and a 2 week cruise is cooler. LoL. Peace. jkeaton
JARogers24
No doubt but some people will go to outrageous levels to be different. I can't see it working at all without stupid money being thrown at it. By the time they finished the car it wouldn't even be a dodge journey! But if anyone ever decides to do it, I wanna see it! Destination
if you can put a 4.6 in a Focus.... jkeaton and JARogers24
Lobitz68
if you can put a 4.6 in a Focus.... Wow... There isn't a whole lot of room left in there! I bet that thing hauls ass... JARogers24
JMcCulloch
I'd forget the hemi and try the Crossfire Srt6 supercharged v6. 330hp 310tq. That'd probably be a more manageable engine and smaller than the hemi. But it would probably cost more than its worth. JARogers24
