Darkpaw
So I have most of the interior gutted, all the wires run, and am about to start cutting the amp wires and naturally, I hit a major snag. The wiring diagrams I have on the Alpine unit were wrong. The diagrams I had were for a 14 and 20 pin connectors, and on the Journey (and apparently Ram and Jeep?) it's 16 and 22 pins. Doing searches online, I have now come across at least four different versions of these pinouts, all from supposedly the same year. Only one of them can be right. Does anybody have access to the pinouts of the C1 and C2 connectors on the 2014 Alpine amps in the DJ? If not from a dealership, then maybe somebody here has an account with AllData? I'd just throw in the towel and buy a subscription on AllData myself, but the newest year they have on there for the DJ is 2012 because of Dodge's new release rules on documentation. It's possible a 2012 would be the same, but I'd like to give it a day to see if anyone can provide the info for me (and save me $25). Anyone.....pllllleeeeeaaaaasssseeeee... Journeyman425
Hope this helps. Note - when I copy and paste from the manual, the diagrams go from a chart layout to everything running together - sorry! Darkpaw
Cool, thanks. It's weird how each pin is there twice...once with the wire gauge and then with .80 or .50.
demir
Journeyman425, that’s true it is very weird that each wire is doubled and for 22 pin connector the difference is 0.5 and 20 and in the 16 pin connector the difference is 0.8 and 18 and I am just wondering what is the difference between two? proto assembly Edited September 21, 2015 by demir

I honestly do not know. Electrical wiring and schematics is not an area that I am trained in. The wiring specifications and their intended uses are not explained in detail in the manuals unless that specification directly pertains to a diagnosis. Otherwise, just the wire color, its intended path, ohm value and pin connector location are given as that is usually all that is needed to trace a problem. John Gierden
I am trying to add a Bandpass SUB into the vehicle. I can tie into the #1 ground and #12 (+) 12v Hot for the power source. I am taking a wild guess that the #2 (+) Private bus for audo telematics #13 (-) Private bus for audo telematics is the mono feed audio INPUT lines. ?? Wondering if this is computer control audio input and not a wise source for an input audio signal. How ever there is a missing switch wire. The #12 pin is 12v constant hot. There should be another wire for switching the amplifier on and off and it's not listed in the diagram. So wondering how the amp turns it self on and off without it or does it constantly run draining the battery? Has anyone successfully added additional amplifiers to there Dodge Journey 2014? Would be much easier to us an LOC to get audio signals and turn on the amp... Then you are simply using the speaker input + and - rather than hunting for the correct wire in the harness.
