jkeaton
I don't understand what the issue is. That's what brakes are made for, stopping. Sure, maybe some vehicles will hold a position on an incline without having to use the brake, then some don't. Use the brake. Not all transmissions are the same. Personally I don't like to have the trans itself keep me from rolling anywhere. If I want to stop, I use the brake. If I don't want to roll anywhere, I use the brake. It is nothing to be concerned about. IMO, it's bad for a trans to do that, kinda like the people who hold a manual transmission car in place on a hill by keeping the clutch partially engaged instead of pushing the clutch all the way in and using the brake. Official Dodge Support DodgeCACares Posted April 23, 2014 Official Dodge Support Report Share Posted April 23, 2014 i get the same thing on my wife's 2014 rt ralleye Armand Savet, This is normal operation and nothing to worry about. Some vehicles have hill assist so this doesn't happen, mostly on manual transmissions though. If you're on a big grade, be sure to use you brake and this won't be an issue. jkeaton and Journey_SeXT
Destination
As jkeaton alluded to, an automatic that allows the car to roll back on an incline will probably last longer than an automatic that holds the car in place.
