chimo79
Is there an option to a 2014 Journey Limited that can be added to implement and Blind Spot Warnings and integrate it with the vehicle display similar to the Backup Assist warnings? It is likely such an add-on would have to come from the manufacturer but I am willing to entertain a Third Party add-on provided it works well and doesn't involve visible wires and ugly "stick on" displays. jkeaton
Dont think that was an option for the DJ, so, no.
Lobitz68
You can get the Lock Pick unit and add reverse, forward, and 2 side cameras... Then, they can be configured to turn on with your turn signal... Aftermarket option, but fully integrated into the oem system... Not a cheap option though, right around $390 USD. SeoulJourney
I had something like this installed here in Seoul. Basically they installed four color-matched proximity sensors into the rear bumper and a small heads-up display on the dash. As you back up the beeping tone get quicker and you get a visual display of near you are to an object. I have the factory-installed backup camera but it sucks when parking it tight spaces (as are all spots in Korea). I'm sure there is an equivalent product on your side of the globe. I've been meaning on posting pictures. More to follow.

SeoulJourney
By "Blind Spot Sensors" I'm thinking he means on the sides of the vehicle, for lane changes... Ah, my mistake. That's a new feature I've heard about.
chimo79
Blind spot sensors that I was thinking of initially are proximity sensors similar to the Backup warning alarms that already exist on some models. They sound an audible alarm when the sensor comes within some specified distance. The Blind spot sensors are near the rear face sideways and are only active when a turn signal is activated. Lobitz suggested a device called Lock Pick and it appears to be the best solution offering several advantages beyond simple blind spot warnings, They are Coastal Tech out of Florida ( http://www.coastaletech.com/ ) and their product is called LockPick because it 'unlocks' many functions of your display including the 8.4" display of my 2014 Journey Limited. Of particular interest to me is the ability to add rear facing side cameras that are typically mounted under the side mirrors. They are activated when a turn signal is activated and present on the display a side/rear view that is significantly better than is available in the mirrors. This is all fully integrated into the 8.4" display. The additional features include better control over the inputs and outputs of the display as follows: USB UPDATE ABILITY - STAY CURRENT WITH FUTURE VEHICLE AND LOCKPICK UPDATES DVD PLAY WHILE IN MOTION - AUTOMATIC OR ON DEMAND NAVIGATION ADDRESS INPUT WHILE IN MOTION (IN EQUIPPED VEHICLES) - AUTOMATIC OR ON DEMAND UNLOCK EVEN DEALER BLOCKED VIDEO - EVEN IF YOUR VIDEO IS NEVER VISIBLE THE LOCKPICK WILL UNBLOCK IT TURN ON BACKUP REVERSE CAMERA INPUT FOR AFTERMARKET INSTALLATIONS TURN ON FACTORY REVERSE CAMERA AT ANY TIME, EVEN IN DRIVE IF DESIRED TURN ON A FRONT CAMERA AT ANY TIME TURN ON A FRONT CAMERA AUTOMATICALLY BELOW 8MPH TO AID IN PARKING OPTION BUILT IN FOR TURN SIGNAL CAMS - ACTIVATE AUTOMATICALLY WHEN TURN SIGNAL APPLIED ENABLES A VIDEO AND AUDIO INPUT FOR YOUR IPOD, IPHONE, COMPUTER, OR VIDEO GAME AUX INS UNLOCKED IN VES EQUIPPED VEHICLES WHILE IN DRIVE NO SWITCHES TO ADD - USES FACTORY STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS NO LOSS OF NAVIGATION USE WHILE UNLOCKED - VOICE COMMANDS AND MAP TRACKING UNAFFECTED ACC POWER OUTPUT PROVIDED FOR YOUR AFTERMARKET POWER NEEDS - TURNS OFF WHEN YOUR CAR TURNS OFF CAMERAS POWERED AND CONTROLLED BY THE LOCKPICK - NO NEED FOR COMPLICATED WIRING OR EXTRA SWITCHES NO CUT WIRES WITH PLUG AND PLAY FACTORY CONNECTORS GREAT FOR LEASED CARS!! - UNPLUG IT AND YOUR CAR IS BACK TO STOCK WORKS WITH CHRYSLER 300, DODGE JOURNEY, DODGE CHARGER PREMIUM RADIO SYSTEMS WITH THE 8.4" SCREEN- ADVANCED UNIVERSAL COMMUNICATIONS COMING SOON PLUG AND PLAY HARNESS FOR 2013-14 DODGE RAM AND 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE
Lobitz68
Yeah, I'm pretty interested in the LockPick unit... It will have to wait a little bit with the price tag it has though, I have other things I'd like to do first.
