redtomatoman
I ordered the newer design front grille emblem. This one is a used factory emblem with the nuts on the back not the one with the hooks. I have looked at changing the emblem before but I have hesitated because it looks like the grille has to come off to get back behind the honeycomb grille to work. To all those who have changed their emblem, how did you do it? Did you remove the grille? Any advise is appreciated. I really don't want to remove the grille unless its fairly straight forward. Peace.
Lobitz68
I haven't replaced my emblem, but I did pop the grille off to black it out. It is a very straight forward to remove the grille. There are the push pins across the top, and then you just pull it straight out. The bumper will flex quite a bit on you, and it does require some patience and a little bit of faith, but it does just pop off eventually. That being said, you can pull it pretty far forward after removing the push pins across the top. I am a very big man and I was able to get my arm in behind it, so you should be able to change it out without removal if you are really against it. Before and after pics when you're done! Journey_SeXT
It's a simple job to do...I didn't remove the grill I just removed the cowl that and stuck my hands inside and got it done pretty easy. The instructions in this thread helped a lot: http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/2985-new-grill-emblem-with-red-stripes/?hl=emblem Edited May 8, 2014 by Journey_SeXT

Journey_SeXT
Good Job RTM! Did you get the grille painted or did it come that way?
redtomatoman
In 2011, the journey R/T came with the body color grille. I think that's still the case although not sure. The new grille emblem adds some pop to the front IMHO. Peace.
Journey_SeXT
Yes, the emblem does give the grille some pop compared to the one that came with the vehicle.
