It all makes sense now! I bought my 2011 DJ Mainstreet 2WD from AAFES Overseas Carsales on a military base in Germany DEC '11. About a month I hear a clicking sound from the engine, I chalk it up to those colder mornings because thats when it would happen. When it warmed up, it went away. Few months later check engine light comes on, i change gas a couple times and it goes away. 2 Years/20,000 miles my check engine light comes on again, i change gas again and it doesnt work this time. I take it in and they say its the 4th cylinder misfiring. They work on it and its fixed for a couple days then it goes back on. I wait a bit to take it back in then at a stop light it blinks for a few seconds then goes steady again. I take it straight in the next time i drive it. They initially said its the spark plug which they replaced but after they replaced it, it still had issues and foudn out it was no compression in the valve so now its in the shop for 3-4 weeks waiting for the replacement cylinder heads from the states. Who out there has had their cylinder heads replaced? How has it been driving since? How long has it been since the replacement (time/miles)? Is it worth trading in or waiting to pay off. Thanks!

I haven't had the cylinder head on my DJ replaced, but having it done wouldn't make me want to sell the vehicle. It's a very straight forward job that any tech worth a damn can do pretty easily. Will probably actually run a little better if your used to the fried one. I wouldn't worry about it, get it done and enjoy your vehicle.

I had the head problem on my 2011 in early 2012. I had no symptoms, though. My dealer discovered the code on an oil change visit. They changed the head and it has run spectacularly since that time. No issues whatsoever. I have probably put 20K miles on the car since the swap. Gas mileage has been the same and I have not noticed any difference in power or torque. Good luck.

Peace.

Same as redtomatoman for me. Had it replaced probably 20-30k miles ago and haven't had a hiccup since then. My vehicle had a slightly rough idle (that was the only symptom I could tell) and the check engine light for cylinder missfire. Mine was in the shop for 2.5 days. Search on the forum, there's a TSB number to cover the common repair.

Just get it done and keep the vehicle!
