FROGBOX
The stock 19" tire was an oddball size (225/55-19) with very little selection when it came to replacement options. I just saw a Yokohama YK580 in the stock size at discount tire for $154 each. This is new as I have been searching for tire options for a few months now and have never seen this before. Something to think about when deciding on a new tire instead of going to the more common over size of 235/55-19. onecrazyfoo4u
I got the YK580's in 235/55/r19 for $550 shipped from discount tire last year. I think the 235 series are still cheaper (and look better being a little wider) than the stock 225 series.
FROGBOX
Have you looked lately? Those same 235/55-19 tires are now $193 each at Discount. The 225/55-19's are $154 each. Big difference. It used to be the case that the 235's were cheaper as there was much more selection. There were only a few options in the 225 size, so they tended to be more expensive. That's crazy, price must have gone up. I ordered them about 9 months ago or so. They were about $180 or so each, but had a $100 or $125 visa giftcard cashback. They have those giftcards quite often, just have to wait for the right deal.
FROGBOX
Yeah, prices fluctuate up & down and rebates come & go. You just have to watch & pull the trigger when you find a good combo. My preference would be to go with a 245/50-19 tire, but I just had some 235/55-19's installed as they were on for a good price. I'll have to stop looking now so I don't get upset when I find a better deal .
