journeyfamily
hi all Ok so i decided to put my DVD head rests in my journey today, and found a wire going to the head rest, does anyone know what this was for, its not a concern, but i was just wondering. unplugged now anyway with new DVD players installed, but would like to know what it is Thanks Paul
bigtsr
The wiring is for the active head restraints which are part and parcel of the airbag system. Hope you don't start having problems with warnings popping up.

bigtsr
Seriously before you play with the headrests again disconnect the car battery at the negative jumper post or you could end up with a facefull of airbag. The headrests (restraints) in fact have a minney airbag in them and when activated they blow out to protect your neck/head.
journeyfamily
wow if i knew there was a airbag in it i would of thought twice about this,i didnt think it would be a problem swoping a head rest out, is there anyway around this or do i have to plug it back in and forget about it. bigtsr
I honestly don't know if it is possible. There are stand alone dvd players availiable and some people have used 10 inch tablets fixed to the seatback for dvd/games.
Lawdog1911
Has anyone tried the Durango seats with the built in DVD screens? I wonder if the seat mounts are the same.
