I can pull over and turn key off, put it in park, crank it, and keep going. Check engine light is not on. Coolant is now leaking. Why? As far as the coolant leak, I don't know exactly why it's leaking, but I would start by checking and finding out where it's coming from. If you have a wack of keys hanging from the fob it can cause the key to turn just enough to kill the ignition . . . . the solution is to put in a stronger spring, but it is even easier just to remove all that mass that causes the problem in the first place. Doug D Posted June 3, 2014 Report Share Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) Have the dealer check for any open (uncompleted) recalls. As I recall there was a recall concerning the engine abruptly shutting off. I believe I had it done on our '10 Journey. It involved the ignition - a very simple fix. The coolant leakage is a totally different issue. If it is still under warranty have the dealer look at it. If not, I suggest having it checked at your favorite local shop.
