tire air pressure valve

Recommended Posts

well, after 10 months and 10,000km's my tire pressure warning light came on. I stopped at my local mechanic , used little wrench in tool kit to remove an air pressure cap, it snapped off and tire deflated in 5 seconds.

paid mechanic $20 to put a conventional valve on.

I guess I will have dealer replace original valve and advise me how to remove these caps.

Comments? thanks

Did the dealer replace your valve....I just had the top piece break off one of mine as well....tire went flat and I had a tire shop install a rubber valve for now.

please let me know if they gave you a hard time or if they said that they have seen others break too.

Hard time is an understatement. I've read multiple posts about this issue and it finally happened to me. Took it to the dealership assuming it would be covered under full factory warranty. NOPE! They said it was NOT a warranty item and charged me over $130.00 to replace the sensor/valve. All because the threaded valve cracked and deflated my tire. The thing feels like plastic.

Anyone else had this issue or had it fixed under warranty? Still baffled why mine wasn't covered.
