Appalachian Journey
2009 Journey SE 2.4l gas. If anyone has the same and has the time to look and reply with the part number stamped on the radiator cap I'd be greatful. The part number on my cap is 52028974AA and is the original unless the dealer silently replaced it.

Is there an issue? rolly and jkeaton
jkeaton
I second that. If you have the part number, why do you need the part number? Edited July 23, 2014 by jkeaton Lobitz68 and rolly
Journey_SeXT
I'm guessing that they just want to confirm that the radiator cap on their Journey is the original.
Appalachian Journey
I'm guessing that they just want to confirm that the radiator cap on their Journey is the original. That's it. When the part number on mine is entered Mopar's own website the 2009 Journey SE doesn't make the application list. Just using this site as one available resource. bigtsr
The radiator cap on my '11 DJ V6 is located in the coolant collection bottle and according to the parts manual I have the number 04596198 CAP RADIATOR. The seal cap on the actual radiator is listed as non serviced item from manufacturer.
Lobitz68
So I went to WholesaleMopar.com and it looks like the cap is part of the top hose assembly... Is that what you are talking about, or are you talking about the cap on the reservoir?

It is the cap that is part of the hose assembly. The reservoir has a snap shut cap similar to what is on the windshield washer fluid tank. Look up the upper hose rather than the cap...

Look up the upper hose rather than the cap... I'm not looking to buy the hose assembly nor the cap necessarily. Just like to hear from a couple owners of the same model, SE. bigtsr
There is a 2009 parts manual PDF file on this site which should list all numbers - I can't remember what forum it's in but it is here. It was posted by BC owner I think "ARMAGEDON" was his user name. Edited July 28, 2014 by bigtsr
Appalachian Journey
Ummm... Okay. Confused again. Sorry. A poor choice of title for the post but I can't change it. I appreciate the effort but I'm not having trouble finding parts. I simply wish to compare the number on mine to that of a couple other cars of the same year and model. There is a 2009 parts manual PDF file on this site which should list all numbers - I can't remember what forum it's in but it is here. It was posted by BC owner I think "ARMAGEDON" was his user name. Thanks. I checked that and only the combo hose/cap assembly is listed. Nothing for cap 52028974AA.
Lobitz68
Theoretically you could use any cap that has the correct pressure spring inside... Apparently no one with a 2.4L wants to help.

Apparently no one with a 2.4L wants to help. It's okay. In time I'll spot one on a used car lot or something and have a look to satisfy my curiosity. Thanks.
