When to do first oil change

I am confused as to when I should have my first oil change done. I have had my 2014 Dodge Journey SXT Plus for 6 months and it has about 3,825 miles on it. I was told to wait on the light to indicate time for an oil change. Someone else said at every 4,000 miles. Does anyone know how often I should have it change as well as when I should have the first oil change done.

My first oil change light came on at 4k miles. Then I changed it at 8k miles again and every 8k miles after that according to the manual. This was on my 2012 DJ.

First oil change can be at mileage you personally feel comfortable

then depending how you drive and what environment you do the majority of

your mileage in and if you use synthetic oil you may set changes to what

you feel comfortable with.

Many of us older drivers are every 5000 guys I know I am , in any case

if the change oil comes on do it.

Subject has been beat to death. There are tons of threads on here regarding oil change intervals. Search for them. As stated somewhere else, change it whenever you want.
