tfour
I have a 19ft. ski boat that weighs 3500lbs. Just wondering if the Journey could handle towing short distances. Also if it would have a problem on the launch.
ThePhotographer
I just purchased a Journey and plan on towing a SmokerCraft 168 Pro Mag with it. The boat it self isn't very heavy. I'd say boat, motor & trailer might be 1200# add 200# for gear put the total at 1400#. Considering the Journey will handle 3500#. Have you read the owners manual? I found the section on the 6 speed transaxle very confusing pertainig to heavy loads. The Photographer
Canada_Jay
I towed a loaded tent trailer with a full water tank. It pulls okay. I don't think it will be a problem for short haul trips. 3500 lbs is a number they select to cover their a$$. It will pull more if you take it easy. Also, keep in mind that the number '3500' is not based on what the chassis can handle per-say (never exceed the weight limit of your hitch & receiver!) however it is what they consider a safe weight for braking with the Journey while towing. It's always the stopping that is more difficult.
