Johnson
Well, I had enough parts to attempt the 8.4 upgrade from the 4.3S today. I have a 2014 Journey but found out that the Dart receivers are NOT compatible with the Journeys, lesson learned. The unit I got was listed as Nav but when I checked it out it is not, which is just as well as I will be returning it because it doesn't fit. Here's the most important question I have - what model receivers are compatible for the swap? I am under the impression that Chargers are and possibly 300's as well. (although the background color may be different). Does anyone have any more info? I know that I can't get a 2014 Journey nav radio as they don't make those. I hooked everything up and nothing worked. I don't know if that's because it was a Dart setup or if the receiver I got just flat doesn't work. I've read a lot on here (and even the Dart forum) on upgrading the radio. I even contacted Uconnect and they told me that it's the same system (rb5, but I know they don't offer Rb5 in the current Journeys) in the Darts as in the Journeys. Although I'm guessing that even if it's the same system I know the mounting box isn't the same. I really wouldn't be too against the RE2's but I want Nav capability down the road even if I don't need it right now. I am stumbling through this... Would the 8.4" screen work with 4.3 receiver? Even that didn't work when it was hooked up and I'm hoping it's because the receiver wasn't communicating properly with the screen. Thanks for any help
Milous
I know that I can't get a 2014 Journey nav radio as they don't make those. The RB5 Navigation radio was an option on all 2014 Journey models except the base model. The part numbers for the RB5 in the 2014 Journey are: Radio: 68210554AE Screen: 5064993AI
Johnson
Milous, thanks for the reply, when I go to the Uconnect website and pick systems, 2014, Dodge Journey, RB5 isn't an option as an available system. You may be correct but I'm just not familiar with it. Thanks for the part number. Other than the fact of needing the unlock code on '12 and up versions, do you know of any reasons to veer away from buying an '11 or '12 RB5? Thanks
Milous
The newer the better... For the screen, p/n 5064993AI is the same for the 2011-2015 Journey. For the radio, the part numers have changed each year, I would stay with the 2014 to best match your vehicle (68210554AE) The suffix change on part numbers (such as AG to AH) typically signifies a minor change/update. A totally new part number is a more significant change. 2011 Radio 5091135AG superseded to AH 2012 Radio 5091038AF superseded to / AG / AH / AI / AJ 2013 Radio 5091367AE superseded to / AF 2014 Radio 68210554AE (also 68210554ZE or 68210554ZH) 2015 Radio 68240130AA For reference: MSRP on the 5064993AI screen is $1410 (U.S.) and $1900 (Canada) For some reason pricing is not listed for the 68210554AE radio. Early model year radios have listed for around $1200 (U.S.) and $2000 (Canada). Johnson
Wow, thank you very much for the detailed info, very informative. I've been following the thread you mentioned and used that and additional threads as part of my "researching" the upgrade. I have all the parts at this point except the appropriate receiver. I am looking at a receiver part# P68210553AB that I'm interested in buying but I don't know which option it is (re2, rb5, etc.) . I've tried to look it up but haven't been successful. Is there a good website to check part numbers? None of the ones I've tried have been very trustworthy. Thanks again for the help

I can tell you for certain that P68210553AB is an RE2. The only part numbers you should be looking at for an RB5 are what I posted above, it is a complete list. Note - I edited my post above, "68210554ZH" is the latest and most current part number for the 2014 radios ($2050 U.S. MSRP). Car-part lists 2 possible 8.4" screens. One with nav and one without. Does it really matter which screen I get? the Nav info is in the head unit, so not sure why the screen matters. It just displays the info sent to it from the head unit, no? Is there really a difference? With nav part number = 5064993AG W/o nav part number = 5064976AH

gusa
Hi guys, I've just bought a 68210554AE radio for the Journey 2014, I did it based on FROGBOX's recommendation. But at the mopar parts site says it only fits C300 and Charger https://www.moparpartscanada.ca/oem-parts/mopar-am-fm-cd-68210554ae Can somebody confirm that it also works for Journey 2014? Thanks. gusa
I can confirm 68210554AE radio worked on the Journey. And that it has the Navigation included. The only issue I had is with the climate controls. The mechanic buttons doesn't work (or are not being recognized by the screen) and when changing the temperature over the screen, it always comes back to 22C/72F
