Oil Pressure

Recommended Posts

My 2013 Journey R/T V6 oil pressure sensor pegged on Hi and had to be replaced. (It took forever to get the part).

I've been monitoring the oil pressure and find that, after warm-up, it sometimes idles at 170kpa and runs at hiway at around 250kpa.

This seems way too low for me. Any suggestions ??

170 kilopascals is roughly 24.7 psi and 250 kilopascals is roughly 36.3 psi...

This seems pretty normal to me... Assuming the engine is warm during this test, you are a long ways from the unsafe area, which as Journeyman425 has stated is right around 5 psi.
