Toolman626
Thank you, I have owned my Dodge Journey since 2008 with many issues. Currently I am having a problem with the rear locks and mentioned to dealership in early 2012 who charged me $55.00 to look at and then advised part not available and another $55.00 plus $77.00 for the part three days later. It still does not work properly as well as the other rear door. I discovered a problem with the door skin when I researched and contacted Chrysler who just told me warranty is over. Now that the weather has gotten cold they both work no problem which tells me the door skin may be the issue. It expands with heat and contracts with cold. I am not sure if I should waste my time telling Chrysler who really does not care about customers. This is only one issue of many I have had in 6+ years of owning the 2009 Dodge Journey RT model. Toolman626, Welcome to the forum! Did you return to your dealer to advise the install wasn't successful back when the work was done?
Toolman626
Yes I did and they checked and said nothing is wrong. I have since stop dealing with Chrysler/Dodge dealerships. I have dealt with 4 dealerships since buying my Journey, The one in Richmond Hill was excellent and for some reason closed wihout notice. The sign on door advised calling number which was Agincourt Chrysler. I gave them a try, they damaged my Journey and when I spoke to owner of dealership he told me I could not prove it. Another dealership rerouted the emergency brake cables and used zip ties. Three months later it broke and the ebrake locked at 90kms per hour almost killing me and wife. The fourth was the one I bought at and did the door lock and then kept telling me nothing was wrong. Chrysler was no help and are probably still investigating the ebrake incident that cost me $900.00 to repair and I have documentation about cables being routed incorrectly. I guess I have to live with this and never buy from Chrysler again.
Toolman626
My wife and I love the Journey and the colour, the dealership we purchased from had every colour on lot when they called us to let us know they had stock. I love my Journey just not the company as I have had many issues and Chrysler advised they would investigate or help out with problems and they did nothing. We bought the first year so we had a lot of bugs to deal with so Chrysler could fine tune the Journey to improve future models. Every recall they did caused more problems. The wiring harness change in the front doors has caused the windows to stall out when going up. I advised Chrysler and all they say is its out of warranty, take to dealership and submit bill and they may give me back my money. I am on disability and cannot afford dealership labor charges.
