Hi... hello... yo...

I bought a nice 2010 Dodge Journey STX w/ 51,000 miles today.

Happy to find an active dedicated forum for it. :)

Everything seems to be in working order on the vehicle...

but you know... when you buy a used vehicle there will be surprises.

I like to do all my own vehicle repairs so I'll probably be asking a few questions in the future.

thanks.. cheers.... peace

Hi.

Congratulations for your new car, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I've watched your pic, and, although front can't be seen 100%, I think your car is model 2009. It's easy to know, just check your VIN, which must be interpreted like this (sorry, I can´t draw a table inside a post):

Position Interpretation Codes = Description

1 Country of Origin 3 = Manufactured By Chrysler De Mexico Inc.

2 Assembler D = Dodge

3 Vehicle Type

4 = Multipurpose Passenger Vehicle Less Side Curtain Air Bags

8 = Multipurpose Passenger Vehicle With Side Curtain Air Bags

4 GVWR & Pass. Safety

G = 5001-6000# (2268 - 2721 KG) GVWR & Hyd. Brakes

H = 6001-7000# (2722 - 3175 KG) GVWR & Hyd. Brakes

5 Vehicle Line

H = (LHD)(AWD) (E-49)

G = (LHD)(FWD) (D-49)

5 = (RHD)(FWD) (B-49)

6 Series

6 = R/T

4 = SE

5 = SXT

7 Body Style

7 = JC Family (Body Style 49)

8 Engine

Y = 2.0L 4 CYL Diesel (ECE)

B = 2.4L 4 CYL Gasoline Non Turbo (ED3)

V = 3.5L 6 CYL Gasoline Non Turbo (EGF)

D = 2.7L 6 CYL Gasoline Non Turbo (EER)

9 Check Digit 0 = Check Digit

10 Model Year 9 = 2009 Model Year

11 Assembly Plant T = Toluca Assembly

12 thru 17 Vehicle Build Sequence Model Year Assembly Sequence

If you want to do repairs for your own, you'll need spare parts, and it's important to know the exact model when you order them.

Greetings!
