Victor Joseph
Greetings friends. I searched trough the web if the 2.7 Engine is E85 and i could only discover that it is in Australia. For Brazilian market vehicles (Mexico Manufactured) i could not find this info. I am asking this because this month the Goverment decided to increase the percentage of etanol in the gasoline by 27%! If my engine runs only in regular gasoline i will have serious problems! Dodge of Brazil - the importer and the seller - could not answer this dumb question. This isn't in the car manual either cause they translated only some parts, not the full version. I thank you very much for the attention. Victor. bigtsr
If there is no visible signage/emblem on the DJ the other way they identified E85 was by the use of a YELLOW gas cap.
bramfrank
The manual for my Pentastar-equipped DJ says that we should not mix regular (E10) and E85; That the system wants either one OR the other and that we should not fill the tank with the other until it is almost empty.. If adding 27% ethanol to whatever the Brazilian fuel spec is takes it above E10, but below E85 you may have a problem. Besides, Ethanol does nothing for pure gasoline consumption (because fuel economy suffers by more than the ethanol percentage in gasohol), so we still pour the same (actually MORE) unburned hydrocarbons into the atmosphere using this additive. dhh3
As stated, there is nothing external. Just the Yellow Gas Cap that says E85 on it (I have the V6). This is the first vehicle that I have ever had that has a yellow gas cap. There is only one station around here that sells E85, and it is too far away for me to even considering using it.
