AirmanBrown32
I really get more sound out of my '12 Journey. I don't want to spend much, or should I say my wife doesn't want me too. I was wondering should I cut the mufflers off or the Resonator off? I don't want any drone since we will be driving this 1300 miles next week. I just want more sound. This is our family car so I don't want to mush noise. Which do yall think would be better. Thanks.
Lobitz68
I would leave the resonators and replace the muffler with a Magnaflow... Should be less than $100 if you do the work yourself and will give a nice rumble without all of the resonance in the cab...
AirmanBrown32
Thanks. I was thinking about that also. What magnaflow's should I go with? And the size of the pipe?
Lobitz68
I'm not positive... The info is definitely on the forum, but it would be just as easy to crawl underneath and take a few measurements (might actually be easier than wading through all of the posts). B4ZINGA
If I wasn't already set on selling mine in 4 years, I'd be chopping off the rear mufflers and welding Borla Pro-XS mufflers in their place, possibly replacing them with straight pipe first just to find out what that's like. I imagine straight pipes would produce some drone though, especially since the cargo area isn't walled off like it is in a sedan. Bubba
I am pretty sure it is 2.5 inch in and 2.5 out offset same side for muffler .
CrossRoad14
I went with flowmaster super 44 sounds great! But make sure you get opposit offset. Not same I bought same at first and could not use it. Had to sell on Craig's list and buy another one.
Lobitz68
Flowmaster tends to have to much drone from my experience on a previous vehicle. Agreed... I've tried them on a couple different vehicles and always ended up switching to a magnaflow or borla muffler after a couple months.
