titus Posted February 23, 2015 Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, I have a 2010 Journey 2.4 wich start giving me some trouble without any answers so far. So while I am driving the radio went off, after radio the A/C went off and also all lights so I can not use the signals( and probably the brake light also). This started last Aug and happened just 3- 4 times till last month when start happening almost every day and sometis even few times a day. The dealer told me to bring it like this but unfortunatelly didnt have a good timing on the car going wrong and their schedule. To resolve the problem I just need to turn of the engine and start again. On my scaner I got no codes just the message: MILL SPARK IGNITION OFF. Please advise if you have any ideea. dhh3 Posted February 23, 2015 Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 Welcome to the forum. Have you tried disconnecting the negative terminal on your battery? This will purge any stored memory - sort of like restarting your computer. Wait about 15 minutes, or at least 30 minutes for the radio. Do the dash lights come on when any of this is happening? titus Posted February 23, 2015 Author Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 I did not tried to disconnect the negative terminal on my battery, I will do it today to see what will happen. The dash light is also off, so all light off, no power for windows or mirrors. Even if I dont turn off the engine and I just put the car on parking sometimes everything is coming back. The scary part is when I was on Highway and I have to change lines to the shoulders without signal and light on brakes:(. I got yesterday a ODB scanner and I will have it always conected to the car and to my cell phone so hopefully I will get a code when this will happen again. dhh3 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

titus Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Share Posted March 2, 2015 So last week happen again and I had the scanner connected and no codes at that time. Went to a dealer and with their scanner the same, no default codes. I disconnect the negative terminal on my battery after and from that time( 3 days) everything is good. bigtsr Posted March 3, 2015 Report Share Posted March 3, 2015 If the OE battery is marginal then poor electrical continuity (corrosion) will and has in my personal experience caused weird electrical faults , if it's the original (possibly 2009 install) then this could be early sign of battery failure. bramfrank Posted March 3, 2015 Report Share Posted March 3, 2015 Anything that affects vehicle safety (visibility, driveability and so on) is probably fodder for a vehicle recall - your headlights and tail lights going out is a potentially fatal defect. YOU need to file the report - Chrysler will not. And the life you save by filing that report could possibly be that of a fellow forum member. Go to Transport Canada's web site and fill in a defect report. Describe the problem completely and the circumstances under which it occurs.
