YellowDuck
My iphone 5 pairs fine with my 8.4N via bluetooth - I can make phone calls etc. And music will stream if I initiate that by the phone. I can change music tracks (skip ahead or behind one track) with the steering wheel control. But, no voice commands work to control the music in any way, and I don't get any information at all about what is playing or the tracks in the playlist or anything at all about the music on the 8.4 screen. What am I doing wrong? 2014 Journey.
Lobitz68
don't think you are supposed to get that info via bluetooth... I don't on my Android (although I usually use Pandora, so I'm not sure I've ever tried). Will work with USB.
dhh3
What iOS are you using? Uconnect only supports up to 7.1 I hunted around forever trying to find an iPod touch with iOS7. I finally found one, and none of the artwork displays. I'll figure it out.
Powerz69
As mentioned you can't get that stuff using Bluetooth, the phone has to be connected through the USB input to get those features. But it it's flakey with iOS7 and broken with iOS8. I'm using Bluetooth as well until an update comes out so I can use the USB input once again. I feel like my wife's iOS8 phone works through USB... doesn't display art though... Edited March 5, 2015 by Lobitz68
Powerz69
REALLY, When I hook up to USB it plays for 1 second then stops and repeats continuously. I have a IPhone 5 and Uconnect completely stopped working for me around iOS 8.1 I think.
dhh3
Just got my iPhone6. It took a long time to pair, but phone part works fine. Music just the same with my 5s and 8.1.
Powerz69
I tried hooking up with the USB again today after reading this, well my phone charges but the USB button is greyed out now. I went back to Bluetooth and I'll wait for an update.
dhh3
How do you play music via bluetooth? Can you do this when the phone is paired? I took all my music off of my phone, and bought an iPod touch, v7.1. Can they both be paired to Bluetooth at the same time? Bluetooth always asks if this will be the primary phone when pairing. The answer is in your owners manual... I believe you can pair numerous devices, but the DJ will pick the primary first if it is trying to connect. You may be able to designate them as music only devices... Again, check your manual. dhh3
dhh3
OMG - that old "Read the Manual Thing" OK. I just bought iPod and ITunes for Dummies. And, I have to read the manual too?
Powerz69
If you have Bluetooth turned on and it's paired, go to player and select Bluetooth. What ever music source you play on your device will play through your stereo.
