Corey Pratt
My wife has a 2009 Dodge Journey SXT. It has Sirius radio and the 6 disc changer but does not have uconnect. I own a 2013 Dodge Dart Aero with uconnect. We both like the hands free dialing/talkin for cell phones with uconnect in the Dart. What is needed and what would the approximate cost be to have it installed to add uconnect to her 2009 Journey? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
OhareFred
The dealer added u connect to my 09 by adding the connect modual and a remote mic. I moved the mike from the drivers A pillar to the drivers side overhead council and it works great. Sorry don't know cost or part number bur should be easy enough to find online. dhh3
As stated, you will need the external Uconnect module. These are very easy to install as they come with a harness that piggybacks onto the grey connector on the back of your radio. They come with a microphone that you can stick anywhere. The instructions say to put it on the driver's side A pillar, but I put it in the middle, by my rear view mirror, on my Nitro, so everyone can join in the conversation. Since you have the old style dash, you have real easy access to your radio. They are held in with 4 screws, behind the dash overlay. I am not familiar with how to remove your dash overlay. It took me about 1/2 hour to install it in my Nitro. But, once installed, you will have to bring it into your dealer to have it activated and added to your sales code. When I added mine to my Nitro, back in 2011, the units ran around $250. I see them all the time on ebay. Lobitz68
places like wholesalemopar.com usually have pretty good prices on things like this. I would check a wholesaler first.
