timmer547
Hi All,I recently bought an aftermarket backup camera for my Journey and I'm looking for the reverse light wire color to hook in with the monitor to come on when I put the vehicle into reverse. Any one know what the wire colors are? dhh3
dhh3
The inside tail light modules are simple to take off. Open the gate, and you will see 2 plastic rivets. There are notches in the head. Use a small screwdriver to pull the rivet out. Then pull the whole plastic piece out. You can then pull the whole lamp module towards you - there are two pins that fit in rubber washers. Then, you can see the colors of all of the lights in the module. Fun, huh! apellefigliodapollo
Ghost
I'm hooking up an aftermarket wireless back up camera system so I want to power the rear and front wireless modules from the reverse light power wires in front and rear. I found the reverse light power wire easily in the rear hatch by looking at the taillight (it's cream coloured on drivers side of my 2011 R/T) but I'm looking for somewhere in the front dash area to wire the wireless module that attaches to my reverse camera screen (Garmin GPS unit). I currently have it powered by hooking into the fusebox under the glovebox, I used fuse that says RR Camera hoping that would be it but that fuse has constant power so leaves my GPS showing the B/U camera even Journey is not in reverse. Looking for the wiring diagram or if anyone knows what wire I can tap into for the reverse lights up front - Or anyone know if there is a wire under the shifter bezel that has power when in reverse only? Thanks for any help? dhh3

bramfrank
It's there - there's a connection right at the back of the radio, though I have no idea whether it is a switched voltage or just a low level signal - you'll need to measure it.What I DIDN'T find was the Bluetooth module. dhh3
If the DJ is like the Nitro, there is a wire bundle under the carpet on the drivers side which runs to the rear, accessible by snapping the door sill plastic cover off.
