jkeaton
Guess it's time to start tracing wiring. Welcome to the forum.
bigtsr
Did you check the fuses behind the glovebox?
Lobitz68
Is the vehicle running or in the "ON" position? Those 2 outlets only work in those situations. The one in the center console is always live. dhh3 and jkeaton
dhh3
If the plug has a key icon on it, it only works on ACC or ON. If the plug has a Battery icon on it, it is hot all of the time. jkeaton

dhh3
No, he is trying to differentiate between a battery and a key. This action takes a lot of concentration and thought. onecrazyfoo4u and jkeaton
onecrazyfoo4u
But isn't that how you start the vehicle? By sticking your key in the cigeratte lighter with the key label??? jkeaton and dhh3
dhh3
Possibly. When I feel up to it, I will go out and try. I will post a detailed report on my findings. jkeaton
jkeaton
But isn't that how you start the vehicle? By sticking your key in the cigeratte lighter with the key label??? No, you repeatedly push the radio button and cuss the car out when it wont start. (ask me how I know)

It didn't start the car but I quit smoking! dhh3 and onecrazyfoo4u

Edan Tal
Anyone know how to remove it? I need to replace the cover which broke, and it requires removing the entire unit.

The power outlet? You need to remove the whole panel. There will be a retaining nut on the back that holds it on.
dhh3
At least on the rear one, there is no retaining nut. Slip a small screwdriver under metal housing, rotate the screwdriver and it will pop out. I did this a few times when I was trying to find a power source for my rear fog lights. dhh3
Yes, at least for the one in the back. I might be safe to say that the other two are similar, but who knows.
