BackUp Camera delay?

Recommended Posts

I just got out of my Cherokee. Lemon Law! I took a 2015 Crossroads Journey. My last few cars had the ability to delay the back up camera. It would stay on for a few seconds after shifting into drive. There was a setting in the 8.4 nav screen. This Journey does not have that feature or I can't find it. Any suggestions?

actually i wish there wasn't the lag when you first put it into rev. i remember a article i read from a expensive car maker that said about the same thing why have to wait after shifting into rev, i felt he was talking about dodge when he said it.. also the warning when first starting the car up and having to accept on the radio to be pushed but then goes away without having to push it is also dumb idea,as if it would do away with any legal issue that might come up.......

Having given the matter a bit of thought, what I'd like is simply to have the camera stay on for a bit if shifting from reverse to neutral . . it can go off immediately when I shift to drive as far as I'm concerned.

When I start my DJ, I immediately push the warning button once it appears. Once I get the radio interface, I shift into R and the camera comes on. If I don't do this, there is a pause while the radio is performing its' cautionary steps. I believe that the warning has something to do with liability.

On my Nitro, I installed a rear view camera with a LockPick. If I pushed the Uconnect button twice in quick succession, the camera would come on. If someone was tailgating, I could see how close. Two more quick pushes of the Uconnect button turned the camera off.

See, there are times that you need to push a button twice, other than the Defroster, to get things to work.
