Kobey Rho
Hi All, My Journey appears to be losing coolant from behind the engine from a heater hose possibly? Looks like a plastic Y pipe there. Anyone have this problem before? I cant see how to get to it without pulling the intake off... Any ideas?

dhh3
V8 or 4 cyl? Front and rear heat/AC, or just front?
bigtsr
This is a posted problem on early DJs. The "Y" connection gets old and heat stressed which results in cracks. You can buy Mopar part or as some have done go to the plumbing store and pick up the appropriately sized ABS "Y" and use it. jkeaton and dhh3

onecrazyfoo4u
Seems like to do any maintenance on these transverse mounted engines you have to pull the intake manifold off... jkeaton
wrenchpro
Not a Journey in these pics but the process, other than the ease of access, is the same. ABS 'Y' fitting and regular heater hose vs the $216 part my (Canadian) dealer quoted me. http://tearitupfixitrepeat.blogspot.ca/2012/08/08-dodge-grand-caravan-antifreeze.html Also see the Gates bulletin. https://www.gates.com/~/media/Files/Gates/Automotive/Resources/Tech%20Tips%20and%20TSBs/Chrysler%20Heater%20Hose_Y%20Connector.pdf Edited June 17, 2015 by wrenchpro terrysymes@gmail.com and rolly
timmer547
I had the Y pipe fail and actually found a replacement metal one on eBay along with a video on how to change it on YouTube. Let me see if I can find it again. There is a link to buy the pipe in the description jkeaton and terrysymes@gmail.com
