BrianS
2015 Dodge Journey Limited I was looking at the build sheet on this again, and I think I've got most of the toys figured out. But(yes, always ONE) it indicates that it has a "humidity sensor" as part of the options package. Anyone know what this is? Or, rather, what it does? Not real important in the grand scheme of things, but just for curiosity sake.
Lvcoyote
Automobiles use humidity sensors as part of their defogging or defrosting systems. Lots of different vehicles use them. jkeaton, BrianS and dhh3
jkeaton
This^^, it assists the HVAC system in keeping humidity levels low in the cabin. This is why sometimes the AC compressor will run even though you are not in the AC or defrost mode. dhh3 and BrianS

dhh3
More than likely it is part of the Automatic Temperature Control.
rolly
Ok, perfect. That makes sense. Thanks for the explanations. Especially handy in our neck of the woods, being surrounded by the Great lakes eh!
probak118
Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I might now have an issue with this ? When I push the recirculation button the light simply flashes 4-6 times then shuts off again. If this humidity sensor is not working this may answer the question of why I am having a tough time keeping the side windows from fogging. Anyone else have this issue and fixed the issue by changing this sensor mounted behind the mirror ?
