sd153
Just got my journey back from service and they said the whine is caused by a bad power steering pump and they needed to order the part. Why the original dealer sold me this car with a defective noisy pump is beyond me and that’s why he won’t get any of my business in the future. The hiss was fist diagnosed as a vacuum problem but later changed to a software update to the dvd / nav. I still hear the hiss but it’s not as loud and doesn’t happen as often. Looks like dodge is aware of the problem and trying to correct it through software. They didn’t provide me with a tsb number but the service ticket referred to rrt 08-085 for any of you who are also experiencing this problem. I am very happy with this new service department they took the time to research any tsb’s and recalls and found 2 that my original dealer either missed or didn’t care to look for. They have been in service for over 50 years and now thanks to our new administration will be out of business as of June 9th. Guess that’s what he meant by sharing the wealth. Now a new dealer only a couple of miles up the road will get all of his business because that dealer doesn’t only sell dodge he also sells Chrysler and jeep grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!! Nicki88
Mine makes a hissing noise too. I have had it in 5 times (just dropped off for the 6th today). I thought my hissing noise had to do with my air b/c my air wont hold a charge and it seems the hissing is worse as my freon (sp) leaks out. F when it tries to regulate the temp. dont think it is related to a/c charge. i just got my journey back from the shop thanks to a deer taking a nose dive into the radiator. i now have a new radiator and condencer with a full charge and still get the hiss. one dealer said it might be a vac leak they said the ventilation doors are moved by vac ? not sure if thats true.
