mgdj06
Hi, I just want to ask how to remove front lower grille only? I already search this forum but there's no step by step instructions or is it just needed to pull out or something or I really need to take out the whole bumper. I do the research here and with google. so please dont tell me to search the forum, if there's one maybe I just missed it. Thanks!!!
dhh3
You will have to give your year and model as there are differences.

Lobitz68
Do you have the engine cover underneath?
mgdj06
there is no engine cover underneath. I see a lot of push pins, is it for the bumpers, idk.. Edited June 11, 2015 by mgdj06
Lobitz68
I've never removed the lower grill, but the upper grills are just pushed in... There are tabs that you carefully push the side to allow them to push through the mounting holes from the back.

I have a 2015 crossroad but I imagine it's similar. All I did was remove the the plastic guard located under the bumper that's also attached to the fenders. Not sure what the actual name is. After that is removed I layed on the ground and reached behind the lower grille and pulled on one end and worked my way over. It was much easier than I expected. It's only held in by tabs Edited August 7, 2015 by carritt11
carritt11
Removed lower grille with bumper still attached
20journey11
Just wondering if you are replacing a broken grill, or just removing the grill permanently? Most aftermarket grills snap on to the existing grill.
carritt11
I did it to install a light bar.
Veronique Marie Gohier
Any ideas how to get the silver bars off the front and back of my 2015 journey crossroads AWD I want to paint the silver parts, and would find it easier if I took them off instead of taking off the journey

jkeaton
I don't think they come off. Just tape around them. Edited April 26, 2016 by jkeaton
Veronique Marie Gohier
I suppose that is probably the safest bet so i don't break anything.. Thanks !
Cody Chornobey Powley
Tape two inches away from the parts your painting and make it heavy coats. Peeling plasti dip when you have lots of coats is easier instead of trying to run out spots that have dip on them. I noticed on my journey that the gloss black bottom bumper is only a cover and not the actual facia itself.
