DartGTDan
Washed the wife's white 2015 RT yesterday. Noticed there is A LOT of residue, from the factory applied (for shipping) paint protection on the roof. Does NOT come off with the sponge and Meguiars car wash product. How do I remove this stuff? dhh3
I have never heard of paint protection from the factory. I just see cars on the car carriers with white plastic sheets covering the areas that might chip, on the way to the dealers.

Lvcoyote
It's the residue left behind when those sheets are removed. My white 2015 R/T had the same goo left behind. Bug and tar remover worked great for getting the goo spots off. dhh3
bramfrank
I'd roll it by the dealer and have them remove it since it is a result of improper preparation. dhh3 and 2late4u
2late4u
right, take it back to the dealer tell them you expect a complete detail job on your new car that's what they are supposed to deliver to you.. dhh3
jkeaton
Take it back. My car has the same stuff on the roof but since I can't see it, it makes no nevermind to me. dhh3
DartGTDan
Yes, I agree the dealer should've been prepped better. It's just a lease car, and trips back to the dealer are such a hassle (time away from work, the wife's schedule, etc...) I was hoping I could find something to use to remove this stuff quickly at home. dhh3
