James Trousdale
So, I did some searching and noticed alot of people wanting to swap to the 8.4" RB5, but I only want to convert my RHA 4.3 to the REB 4.3s. It should be a much simpiler swap and cost less too. Is this as simple as swaping the radio or will there the more to it? We are simply wanting the satellite radio option. The one the dealership showed us had the satellite, but the one we got which was supposed to be the "same" did not have the satellite. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? I know the RB5 is available on the 2011-2014 Charger and the 2011-2015 Journey, so I do have some sourcing options. Thanks in advance, James
bfurth
Is the satellite antenna built in to all models? I didn't think it was (only on models spec'd from the factory with satellite radio and/or navigation.
dhh3
The Sirius, AM, and FM are all on the powered stub antenna. The only way to know would be to pull the radio and see if there was an extra antenna in there,
bfurth
If they're all on the same wiring harness, then the 4.3 to 4.3S swap should be pretty simple. You might want to check with your closest dealership to see if any other codes need to be added.
dhh3
If there is no Sirius antenna cable, you'd need to get a Sirius antenna to plug into the radio. I have seen tiny ones that just stick (or magnetized) to the outside of the car.
