Wurlitzerguy
Hi everyone! Just got a new Journey R/T in silver steel with the CRD engine, love it so far.Lots of space for the kids and great milage. This one has the automatic, does anyone know if this is the same as the transmission for the V6 engine? Wurlitzerguy
wyoram
Welcome to the Club Sorry I am no help on the transmission. Is it a 6 speed auto. The V-6 comes with a 6 speed.
Sam
The CRD comes with the 6-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission). With the V6, it is a 6 speed, but not DCT.
Wurlitzerguy
The CRD comes with the 6-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission). With the V6, it is a 6 speed, but not DCT. Is the CRD/dual clutch tranny then Volkswagen like the engine? The dealer told me something about a DSG transmission, but I also read somewhere that the Journey came with a Getrag... So, am I right when I assume that the CRD Journey has the VW DSG transmission (dual clutch), and the V6 gas engine has the Getrag transmission? It works fine, a little "lively" in the shifting though, compared to my Chevy truck with only 3 speed and lockup. A stange thing: I could`nt get my Journey with the Pebble Beige interior! don`t know why, it only comes in black here...but when I ordered my Caliber, beige was no problem! Is there a code sheet somewhere in the car, telling which options are installed? Thanks
Sam
The VW DSG is made by BorgWarner and the Dodge DCT is a Getrag transmission. The V6 has the 62TE, an evolution of the 42TE (the 4 speed transmission that Chrysler uses since... long time!).
