Josh Cook
I am about to order the Curt 13335 Hitch. I've been doing the research on which harness to purchase for my particular Journey. There is the OEM harness if you have the plug near rear bumper (I don't). Then, there are 4 different harnesses on E-Trailer.com (2 non LED and 2 LED). According to Dodge's website, the 2015 AVP Journey does NOT have LED tails. IF that is correct, that narrows it down to 2 harnesses for me (56109 without powered modulite and 118567 with powered modulite). Honestly, I plan to have a 4x6 trailer that may just have taillights without side markers, etc... Could I get away with using the 56109 that pulls all the power for trailer directly from taillight wires? Am I right? Or way off base here? Thanks in advance. Josh Cook
Just walked outside at 11pm to look at my taillights. Of the 3 bulbs that I could see, none were LED.
dj cowboy
You should be able to get the cheaper harness then. You might want to find out if you need to upgrade your flasher though.
Josh Cook
Upgrade the flasher?
bigtsr
Todays DJ does not have a typical flasher module (not sure about AVP) the signal process is controlled by the TIPM module and the sound is generated by the pcb in the dash. Josh Cook
So spend the extra and just get the 118567 with powered modulite, to be safe...
