tyeayo
Hello, I bought my wife a 2014 dodge journey sxt awd the other day and I had a few questions. It did not come with auto lights, I thought it did, but alas, no dice. Is it possible to wire in the the headlights with the foglights/drls? Meaning, when I start the car and put it into drive, the foglights come on, but not the headlight. Is there a way to wire the headlights and tie em in with the drls as a cheap way to have auto headlights? also, I would like to add remote start for her, and would like to go through the dealership to keep it as OEM as possible. What did they charge you to add it on? dhh3

dhh3
The Dealer can turn on the DRLs for you, or they may just be turned off on the Settings on the screen. I do not believe that you can change anything related to how the lights work because they are all controlled by the computer (TIPM). My DRLs are the high beams at 80%. I have seen some Djs with the turn signals as DRLs. Auto headlights can be added but is is quite expensive!
silenze
If you have the automatic climate control you can add the auto headlight switch. The dealer has to Open a star case and have them add the code to activate it
dhh3
Are you sure? I have auto HVAC and my Dealer told me that they would have to remove most of the dash. There is another thread on here concerning auto headlights. You have to have the correct sensor: the little bubble in the center of the dash at the base of the windshield. Mine does have a wire hanging down behind the radio, that the Dealer found while installing my rear camera. It could be the wire that runs from the sensor to the auto headlight switch, but no one seems to know what it is for! jkeaton
tyeayo
I dont have auto climate, unfortuantly I bet there is a way to hijack the signal from the computer and route it to the headlight low beams....it just seems nonsensical to have drls at 80% power....seems like a gimmick to force ppl to get the auto headlight option at 850 bucks! dhh3
