Dana Boissonneault
I was wonding if the Dodge Journey allows for Swedish tethering when rearfacing a car seat? My car seat manual says to do it, but I need to check with dodge. dhh3

Dana Boissonneault
Yes I use latch, but it's for the top tether. dhh3
bigtsr
When I had rear facing for my granddaughters used an extra tether strap/belt that came with the car seat and looped it under the second row seat to secure it. dhh3
jkeaton
What is "swedish tethering"??? Yes, I am too lazy to google it. dhh3
Lobitz68
What is "swedish tethering"??? Yes, I am too lazy to google it. Based on the picture she attached, it looks like tethering the top of the car seat to the floor (when in a rear-facing configuration). dhh3 and jkeaton

dhh3
Maybe use the handle for the under floor bin. I have no idea what the weight load is on the handle. jkeaton
Dana Boissonneault
My carseat came with the extra attachment where I can loop it around the back leg of a front seat, but some vehicles do not allow this. I was just wondering if Dodge allowed it or not. dhh3
rolly
I'm not sure where you are, but in Canada there are several organizations that show how to properly install car seats. Check to see if there are any in your area, they may have the information you're looking for. dhh3 and jkeaton
Dana Boissonneault
I'm in Ontario Canada. I've been to a car seat clinic and the techs were unsure. They said mycar seat manual said to do it, but it's not the car seat that needs the permission, it's dodge. dhh3
dhh3
Since you are in Canada, I would tether it according to Canadian law jkeaton
bigtsr
There is no Canadian "law", the only stipulation is that the seat must be secure insuring no movement whatsoever. Don't forget that with rear facing child seat the built in anchors are of little use so you must innovate. jkeaton and dhh3
