Dusty256
Not a problem but wondering if anyone else has noticed this . I can be at just under 1/4 tank of gas , low fuel warning has not came on yet . If I don't fill up completely and just put in say about 13 gals of gas the fuel gage will go all the way to the full mark and then return to just under full after I drive about 5 miles. Gauge always seems to read a little higher when I gas up but returns to a lower level once I get moving again . 2009 se dhh3
dhh3
I very rarely let it drop below 1/2 unless I'm on a trip. Never noticed the gauge acting any differently from the point where it is at to Full. When I get gas, I always fill it up to the top of the filler neck, if the pump will let me. Lobitz68
I'm pretty sure this is common in the first model year or two... Try searching the site. I'm sure the answer is there. dhh3
xcaliber81
I was told with my caliber that once it clicks do not go further as there's something in the fuel tank filler tube that if gas gets there it's a very costly repair not covered under warranty dhh3 and rolly
bigtsr
Yes the recirculation charcoal canister which is part of the evaporation system can be damaged by overfilling. rolly and dhh3
dhh3
I have done this with all of my vehicles since I was a kid and I have never experienced any issues doing this. But lately, the pumps themselves will not let me do this because there is no way to control the flow of the gas.
