LKMS
Hey, I bought a 2009 Dodge Journey SE from a private seller. However only got 1 key and would like to get another one for back up reasons. I found a link on eBay. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Uncut-Replacement-Key-Fob-Keyless-Entry-Remote-Transmitter-For-Dodge-Chrysler-/191697899777?fits=Year%3A2009%7CMake%3ADodge%7CModel%3AJourney&hash=item2ca215d101:g:Bm4AAOSwDFNWE4LE&vxp=mtr If I purchase this, all I have to do is bring it to the dealer and they'll program/cut the key for my car correct? bramfrank
I suspect they won't cut the key, but if the fob works then yes, the dealer will learn it into the vehicle for a fee.If your vehicle hasn't had the recall performed you should be able to cut the key and hand this new one to the dealer without mentioning that it hasn't been paired along with your original fob and they will hand you two brand new ones back, programmed to the vehicle.
