priell3
I added a cover to my steering wheel. I got it from my local Autozone and is listed here http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MB0DJ0K?ref_=cm_cr-mr-title. It is a great match for the interior of my DJ. Big improvement over the hard plastic. It was easy to install and fits tight. jkeaton and dhh3

priell3
The new steering wheels are hard plastic??? Mine is soft... Hard plastic, hard rubber. Whatever the base steering wheel is made of. The AVP doesn't have a fancy, leather-wrapped steering wheel. jkeaton and dhh3
Lobitz68
Ahh... didn't look close enough at the model. This is the first vehicle I haven't had to buy a cover for, so I was shocked. Makes more sense now. jkeaton, dhh3 and priell3
redtomatoman
I put a cover over my leather wrapped R/T steering wheel. I really like it. Not only does it have some padding in places that make it more comfortable, but it also protects the stock leather wheel from my sweaty andoften dirty mitts. It matches the interior well also. Peace. dhh3, jkeaton and priell3
xcaliber81
What does it do for the heated wheel?
redtomatoman
Mine is not heated. I don't believe that was not an option in 2011, but even if it was, my R/T is without that. Peace. dhh3
jkeaton
What does it do for the heated wheel? It will make the heated wheel feel not so heated. Think about it. Your basically putting a layer of insulation over the wheel. dhh3 and priell3
B4ZINGA
FYI, don't use wheel covers on leather or vinyl-wrapped wheels. It will damage the leather/vinyl. dhh3
xcaliber81
I'm not totally stupid I'm just wondering from the people that have a heat wheel and a steering wheel cover. dhh3 and priell3
jkeaton
I'm not totally stupid I'm just wondering from the people that have a heat wheel and a steering wheel cover. Oh. My bad. dhh3
I put a 2-tone Wheelskin on my leather wheel in my Nitro, because it felt too skinny even with the leather. Sewing took about an hour. MY DJ leather wheel is just right, so no need for a cover. jkeaton and 11journeybama

Woah322
I'm not totally stupid I'm just wondering from the people that have a heat wheel and a steering wheel cover. I got a heated steering wheel, have never thought about having a cover, at least not in the winter months, would just defeat the purpose jkeaton and dhh3
xcaliber81
Yea I kind of figured. Also having detail experience I've learned the cover can sometimes stain the steering wheel.
dhh3
Do it yourself. Wheelskins are specifically made for the size of your wheel. They come in an assortment of colors; some 2-tone. You have to sew it on. The kit comes with a big needle and the thread is HD and comes with a coating of wax. Take your time, and don't twist the thread. It will look professional. I have done 3. jkeaton
How much does it cost to get your steering wheel wrapped in leather? I'd like to have a local shop to do this. Any ideas? Can't you call and ask? dhh3

xcaliber81
Is it not pressed on lol. My jeep steering wheel needed to be pulled off the column. dhh3
xcaliber81
Yea but what I mean is take the airbag out and the steering wheel controls out and you have the base steering wheel that is pressed onto the column over a type of gear. dhh3
