jshabouk
Greetings All! Just joined the site and just got my 2015 Journey SXT last Wednesday. Got it all setup, but I have a question - I was having issues with ipod voice control last night and uconnect support recommended upgrading the radio software. I did for my RE2 radio software last night and since then, my ipod will only let me listen to playlists. I can no longer filter via artist, album, genre, etc via the screen. When I called uconnect, I got multiple stories about potential patches, then there is no patch pending, and ipod is not supported because it is a plug and play device. (I call BS on that one). They recommended using the ipod's voice control via pushing its button when i wanted it. Ummmmm, kind of defeats the purpose of radio integration, right? So they then recommended putting music on an SD Card or USB Drive. SD Card I got a 32GB class 10 SD Card for 5 bucks and threw my music on there (~3500 songs). I had to put all songs into the root directory with no folders. After 15 minutes in the slot, everything was loaded and I can filter on metadata tags via button, but apparently, the SD Card use does not have voice control. USB Stick So I made a copy of the SD card on a blank 32GB USB stick and plugged it into the usb port, but after 15-20 minutes, there was still no ability to filter or search. Is the usb port that much slower than SD? Any suggestions on this? I like the car, but this is downright frustrating. How should I be structuring the folders/files to make the metadata work so I can voice search on songs and artists? Thanks very much, Joe dhh3

jshabouk
jkeaton, i figure if I got the capability and 3500 songs, I might as well use it, right? :-) dhh3
jkeaton
Understood. Just if something was that much a pia that caused me frustration, I'd just forget about it. That's just me though. There's plenty of guys in here that are familiar with your situation that I'm sure will be helping you out soon. dhh3
Lobitz68
My USB is sorted in folders by artist. How is the USB formatted (FAT32, etc.)? dhh3
jshabouk
Hi Lobitz, Formatted Fat32. When in folders, it only pulls in ~1250 songs. When mp3's are put in the root folder, all are pulled, but are not organized. dhh3

I'll try and remember to take a look at mine and see how it is organized; you may be right and I may not have folders. It's been a while. dhh3 and jkeaton
dhh3
Welcome to the forum. I answered your PM. I need to know if your iTunes Library is on a PC. Uconnect only recognizes up to iOS 7.1. I purchased my DJ a year ago last June and am still waiting for an update. Love the car; hate the radio. I finally got my SD card to work like an iPod should. jkeaton
