dairyworker
Just this past thursday the we picked up our 2016 dodge journey. It is mainly my wifes car to commute for work but we also do alot of camping in the summer and have an 80 pound dog (no real kids). It is replacing our sadly departed '09 caliber sxt. We really liked the caliber and planned on having it for a long time yet but the cvt trans died. I enjoy working on my own cars and will do so with this one as much as the warrenty will allow. I am curious as to what tips you can give on break in period and what were some of the first things done to personalize your journey. Enough ramblings, thats enough for my first post i guess.... dhh3
BlindSquirrel
only thing I've done to mine (2013) is to replace the tyre tube caps with chrome ones and put a little convex mirror on the passenger side mirror. I've ordered a dash cam and chrome door handles as well. ... The extra mirror is more useful than you'd expect for a ~2" diameter bit of plastic. And WELCOME! I've only been around a short while having purch'd the vehicle in Sept. Edited December 8, 2015 by BlindSquirrel dhh3
redtomatoman
Get the extended warranty. There's too many proprietary electronic gizwidgets to fail. They work great until they don't. Then they're expensive. Peace. priell3, jkeaton, dhh3 and 2 others

Lobitz68
No real break in period on these newer vehicles, but you will start to see a major uptick in mileage somewhere around the 8,000 mile mark... Welcome. jkeaton, dhh3 and rolly

dhh3
Welcome to the forum. Lobitz68 is correct. I just turned over the 8,000 mark and the mileage is slowly beginning to improve. Mechanically, all I have done is remove the resonator and installed a Hellcat Hemi! rolly and jkeaton
Easy Rider
Welcome aboard and as other posters have stated, we are also seeing better than advertised fuel consumption. (presently have 20,000km/12,000m) dhh3
