John/Horace
Welcome to the forum. Approx mileage and engine in vehicle useful for trouble shooting. The clicking is the solenoid on the side of the starter. If it started without a boost by triple A then it's not likely battery. Could put rubber mallet in the car. Next no start, try few taps on side of starter. If it then starts it is probably worn solenoid contacts and you will need starter replaced. Easy on the 2.4 engine, crappy on the 3.6. We got stuck out of town in the backwoods and finally got it towed to a mechanic he put a new starter. Fine another two years we could not start it and we put in a new battery we then put in a new alternator. It is at mechanic it wont start it will click but that’s it he’s had it for three weeks. Dream24622
I have a 2012 SE with 185,000 miles starts when it feels like it. It would be fine for a while and got to the point of getting it started and leaving it on while going into a store as I might come back out and wouldn't start, very scary with the thought of being stranded. I tried every trick possible on you-tube with no avail. I was gone for 9 days started right up. ABS light going on and off not sure same issue. At one point I could jump it, not anymore. All lights turn on but wont turn over, no clicking nothing. New battery well seems new everything after wasting over 4000.00 and issue still not fixed. Not key fab either. A mechanic friend came over and had to bang on the starter for it to finally start. Apparently the starter also blew a fuse. It has been extremely frustrating. Wishing Dodge had more recalls with all the issues I have had and even more wishing I knew more about cars.
