Arketect
So, I have my phone connected via bluetooth for phone and audio. Its a samsung and not an IPhone. I understand that only the android phones will display text messages when connected. How can I stop the text messages from appearing and interrupting my audio without disconnecting bluetooth? dhh3
Lobitz68
Hmmm... good question. It can be annoying. I wouldn't mind a notification that didn't audibly interrupt the music. Have you looked in the owners manual? I bet the answer is there if it is possible. dhh3 and jkeaton
bramfrank
I suppose you could always get an iPhone . . . . dhh3, jkeaton and Lobitz68
dhh3
Pair the phone via Bluetooth for telephone. Plug the phone into the USB port for music. See if the dreaded text messages go away. jkeaton
Johnnyh
When Carplay is available it will fix Apple/Uconnect issues. dhh3
bramfrank
Since FCA already has the next generation beyond our uConnect radios in the field in newer vehicles than ours AND since uConnect is acknowledged to be the 'best' and most intuitive package on the market, the likelihood of them moving to Carplay is about zero - and the ability to retrofit it to our existing vehicles is a tiny fraction of THAT. dhh3
Marc Paulin
You can use an app like Agent to silence incoming texts while driving (and send an auto-reply to say that you're on the road). dhh3
cody168
I envy you able to get text message working with bluetooth. I have a Sony and text msg via BT not supported by uConnect. dhh3 and jkeaton
Camper
You cannot get text on display/screen when you driving, it only option available is listen. So it will be interrupting the radio, when you listen. However, if you do have connected lockpic, then you can read text message, without interrupting radio. jkeaton and dhh3
dhh3
Last I checked, Uconnect supports up to iOS 7.1. My 6 is using 9.2.1. My message tab is grayed out. No big deal for me the phone pairs and everything else works fine. jkeaton
