johny1fin
http://www.evolutionchips.co.uk/chipsearch.asp Look for Dodge Journey 2.0L TDI. It increases BHP by 30 Torque by 60NM Economy by 10-20% Now if this wre true I would have one. Rumour says I had this done yesterday at a cost of £295 fitted. Performance vastly increased. Driveability much better and stays in higher gear longer in the auto box. Economy up from 34MPG to 38 MPG. and finally its like pulling the 2.0 and putting in a 3.0 Early days yet re mpg. I am doing 700 mile next weekend so will update after that. Or so the romour says ............. I could not possibly comment. Can I ask if the Journey is calibrated in UK mpg or US mpg as there is a big difference?
Sam
Two guys I know did the same thing to their VW engine, and they also got better MPG... only if you drive the same way as before the tuning.

If its a 2.0 138HP its the same engine. I know this engine is not available in the Journey in US. How about Canada? There are memberson this forum with it from Europe and Australia. I think its also the vw/audi 6 speed auto box as well which would make lots of mechanical sense.
Sam
One of them have the 1.9TDI and the other the 2.0T. No diesel in Canada for the Journey. Not because we don't want it! 99% of time, we have what USA want. So, if USA don't want diesel, Canada won't have it! The VW 6 speed DSG is from BorgWarner and the Dodge 6 speed DCT is from Getrag. Dodge must have had a special bell housing etc made to interface between them. It must have been worth it financially. I wish they had put in the 2.0 common rail VW engine but this is so new that only the newer VW cars models have it never mind the 3rd party car manufacturers. The newer engine is much quieter and I need to sort that out next. But it will have to wait as I spent £1000 on ordering accessories for the Journey yesterday, some of which I have posted on here. WOLF
wanna make your journey better all round, then pm me dear chap, and i will point you in the right direction..... the 2.0l tdi we have is ripe for the diesel tuning, and not the evo stuff either... better torque, huge acceleration difference and also if you want it, better mpg, and the euro based Journies are Imperial UK gallon calibrated!!! Westy
I am thinking about getting a 2.0ltre Diesel Journey to replace my tired 178,000 miles 2 year old "X" type Jag estate. I had the Jag mapped and it made a huge difference on MPG, taking it from 46mpg to 52mpg, and the power output was much better. BUT! and this is a big but. I had a few issues 6months ago where it would not start in the mornings and put it into the local Jaguar dealership to have it repaired under their unlimited mileage 3year warranty and they were able to see that it had been mapped and refused to do anything under warranty. So it ended up costing about £1500 to repair it which wiped out a lot of the fuel savings I had made due to the mapping. My question is: If I purchase a Journey and have it treated by the guys in this thread, will it be seen when in for repairs/service by the dealer? What are the service intervals as I do a lot of miles each year? Westy

TarkMalbot
You could have a look into fitting a tuning box so you could take it back off when taking the car for a service. Have a look at the following, they all seem pretty much the same: http://www.chipexpress.com http://www.tuningbox.com/ http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/
dabird
Hello, I got mine from Race Chip in Germany ( www.racechip.de), installed in 12 minutes ( really not kidding) and indeed felt the performance boost immediately. We have to remember that the 2.0 diesel version that equips the Journey is a VW engine and thus fearly standard around the European neck of the woods. TarkMalbot
I see they are a really good price compared to the UK sites. Do you think there is any difference between the technologies used by these comapines as some of them have different output figures or do you think they are pretty much all the same?
