hockey_puck
Back in the Great White North. Happy to see we are sharing some lovely winter temps with the eastern folks! Left one of those intelligent trickle chargers on the Journey and it started right away after sitting a month. First hockey game today, and no they didn't need to call the paramedics to revive me! Things are good. H.P. dhh3

Journeyman425
Welcome home. It's a balmy 9 degrees here now! And Watertown, NY recorded the lowest temp in the Lower 48 States today @ -37 degrees F. hockey_puck, dhh3, jkeaton and 1 other

Journeyman425
Yes, my 300M is plugged in as we speak. Lord knows why I didn't order the block heater on the Journey - must've had a brain fart but honestly we don't see temps like this very often. dhh3 and jkeaton

dhh3
I'd never even heard of these. I learned something today! It replaces one of the freeze plugs, and then plug it in to an electrical outlet. The electricity keeps the engine oil warm.
BlindSquirrel
I would have thought the electricity would power a heating coil of some kind... Similar to a brew belt but on a larger scale dhh3
dhh3
There is a "U" shaped heating coil that goes into the engine block, through the hole where the freeze block was. Sort of like an electric hot water heater, but on a much smaller scale.
BlindSquirrel
I see. Thanks! dhh3
