I guess that's why I still own two of them. While I did love my celica, not sure I could own another Toyota. Chevy, yeah. Mopar, surely. Steve_T
In order of ownership, 1982 Chevrolet Chevette, paid $100 for it from my high school principal and it was my shop project to get it safetied. It was a four door, and rwd, so a fun car for a high school kid and his friends! 1985 Honda Civic, 2 dr 5 spd, metallic orange, really wanted a crx, but couldn't afford one at the time. 1987 Honda CRX Si, sold the civic to a friend who needed a car to drive out west, and bought the CRX off another friend who had modified it for autocross and lappong days, nice cam, intake exhaust, sway bars, wheels. We used to go to the Shannonville racetrack with the St.Lawrence Auto Club for lapping days, bay when they had the driving school there, and you could find decent race tires in the pile at the back. 1991 VW Corrado, started a new job, which I have now been at for 17 years, and wanted a 'new' car, drove by the lot and fell in love with the yellow Corrado and had to have it. Owned it for 10 years, swapped out the g60 for a vr6, had coilovers, Recaro interior, multiple different wheelsets over the years, lots of money, and went to car shows with it. 1988 VW Fox, used as a winter beater for one winter, honestly don't even remember what I did with it! 1994 Subaru Justy. Winter beater, this thing was amazing in the winter, 4wd at the push of a button on the gear shift, got me and my friends to 55 days/nights of skiing that winter. Had to let it go, exhaust manifold rotted out, needed brakes and tires, didn't want to sink anymore money into it. 1998 Subaru Forester, big life change, met a girl (now wife) from Montreal, and needed something more practical than the Corrado. Still a fun car, 5spd, 50/50 awd, the most fun I've had driving in the winter! 2004 Subaru Forester, got married and wanted a new car. Auto trans, boring in the winter, decent cars though, just loud and underpowered motors, wished I had an xt. 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Almost settled for a minivan, but wife let me have the Jeep, always wanted one, added bigger tires, lift, bumper, lots of lights, owned it for just over a year, and it just wasn't working with 3 kids, two bwomg still in carseats. 2015 Dodge Journey. Actually went to the Dodge dealer to look at a used GMC Yukon, but ended up with the Jourmey. Happy with the decision, as I love the pentastar v6, I drive a 2011 Caravan for work, and always thought the motor was great. Three rows of seating helps with the kids situation, two carseats in the middle row, and our teenager car sit in the third row, if she wants to go anywhere with us. jkeaton, rolly and dhh3
bfurth
1995 Ford Taurus (former fleet vehicle from US Marshals, bought at auction) - died (for me) of a head gasket failure (sold it to the older of my younger sisters for enough money to get an iPod, and she kept driving it for another 3 years) 2005 Chevy Cavalier (my first NEW car, bought while I was in college) - my youngest sister still drives it (120,000 and counting) 2003 Chevy Malibu (first family car, drove it until the head gasket failed and I bought my Journey) 2010 Chrysler Town and Country - 106,000 and still going strong (primarily, my wife's vehicle) 2015 Dodge Journey - 1 year, 6,000 miles, and 2 collisions! I can't say enough good things about this vehicle! jkeaton, rolly and dhh3
QuarterSwede
1991 Honda CRX Si - First car and man do I miss it. So much fun. It had a gorgeous black with gold fleck factory paint job. Moon roof too. Not many cars handle as well. 2000 Dodge Neon SE (loaded) - Great commuter, drove it till it died a few times. 2015 Dodge Journey SXT - 27K miles so far. Excellent commuter vehicle. So quiet, smooth, and powerful. Found it loves to be in cruise control. The average MPG really skyrocket when it controls the throttle (I hit 26 mpg while on flat roads in AZ, average 24 in mountainous CO). Great for AWD and 3 kids. Still think the exterior is outdated and ugly. Love the interior though. BlindSquirrel
Wow... ok my turn. 1982 Holden Camira JB - My first car in blue. It never drove the same after I ran it off the road being silly. but it did run for a good few years after that. 1985 Toyota Cressida. - It was luxury back then but the window buttons broke when you so much as looked at them. 1985 Nissan Bluebird - This one was bright yellow so we called it a Canary. Thus ended my affair with ugly boxy cars when I got a job that allowed me to buy a 3YO... 2000 Mitsubishi Magna TJ sedan - I loved this car and had it until 2013. It was just coming up to 200k km and the platinum plugs along with rocker cover gaskets, new mufflers and timing belt all needed doing and tallied up to over 3/4 of the market value of the vehicle to keep it running happily. It has a transverse V6 engine so needed to be pulled out to work on the back plugs and rocker cover. 2003 Honda Jazz - for the missus, we still have this car and it hasn't missed a beat. 1999 Ford Fairmont AU Ghia - Drove this around for a bit because the in laws retired and moved to the city and wanted a smaller car. I took it off their hands for a song after the Magna but only had it for 6 months. It had a thirsty 4L straight 6 married to a 4 speed automatic. It only started in Neutral and had failing LED display that only kinda worked if the temperature was between 20-25 degrees C outside. It was also as ugly as a sack full of sphincters. I had no love for this car. 2013 Journey SXT - The whole family loves this car. Edited January 9, 2017 by BlindSquirrel rolly

I wrote out a list about 10 years ago or so and there were about 45 cars on it. Of course we've been a 2 car household for 30+ years they add up. My Grandpa on my dad's side was a Ford guy, and although he had his first car in his 20's already, he only ever had four cars his whole life. (He died at 68, in January 1973.) His list: Ford Model T (a 25, I think) 37 Ford 49 Ford 61 Ford Oh, he did also have a 52 Dodge 3/4 ton PU on the farm. And one Ford tractor. (He farmed with horses until the late 40's or so.) My other grandfather's list was long & varied, but included a 39 Ford coupe that he had put a 49 Mercury V8 in, and had painted Fire-Engine Red. That's the car he had when my Dad met my mom's family for the first time. It would do 75 in 2nd gear. He would have been in his late 50's or early 60's by then. That car (body only) was still there on the farm when I was kid, but it was being used as a chicken coop. rolly
