Robert Rose
So I ran my daughter to piano lessons and when we were done the kids were loading up and I started depressing the brake pedal, It made a swoosh sound and I did it a few more times waiting for it to firm up but didnt. When I started my car the brakes would brake but i had to keep pressing into to make it brake. After driving it from there to the stor and back home it now goes all the way to the floor before it brakes. I had no problems before I left for the piano lesson with it. Did me depressing the brake while the car was not running do something? Whats going on here. Its a 2013 Journey SXT with 38k miles. dhh3
jkeaton
What's the fluid level? You blew a caliper seal or something. You have the vehicle. Start checking for fluid leaks at each wheel and also the master cylinder. It would be helpful if you would state year, mileage, engine, etc. Edited March 12, 2016 by jkeaton dhh3
Robert Rose
yeah...just checked the master cyclinder, no fluid...so i must have blown something and lost a bunch. would something like this be under the basic warranty that covers everything, or is this wear and tear stuff? dhh3
2late4u
3yr/36 month no problem covered.. dhh3
bramfrank
Well, since the OP stated he was at 38K miles on the vehicle, it is going to come out of his pocket. jkeaton
jkeaton
Bumper to bumper is over. Power train won't cover it. Unless you bought an extended warranty that covers everything, the bill is on you. Edited March 12, 2016 by jkeaton dhh3
2late4u
he asked if basic warranty would cover it and i just replied it would and stated the coverage. If they ask a silly question !!! jkeaton and dhh3
Official Dodge Support DodgeCares Posted March 14, 2016 Official Dodge Support Report Share Posted March 14, 2016 As jkeaton stated, you are outside of the basic warranty from a mileage standpoint (3 years/36K), so unfortunately this will likely be out of pocket. Do you have anything setup at a dealership yet, Robert?
